You will also need a plastic dress popper, approximately 0.75m of shop bought 13mm bias binding, matching thread and lightweight fusible interfacing.Īll seam allowances are 1.5cm, unless otherwise stated and are included in the pattern. We recommend medium to lightweight woven fabrics such as denim, cotton chambray, laundered linen or lightweight wool. Our sample has been made using our Goodnight laundered linen. Featuring relaxed styling for easy dressing in rough seas, the Skipper has dropped shoulders and casual rolled cuffs whilst the neckline has an internal popper at the front V insert. Irresistibly redolant of carefree summer days and never growing up, the skipper is born to play. Inspired by the classic sailor bib, we pay homage to the ancient port of Rye (our hometown). With a little extra butter poured on it was still tasty enough that we eat every little piece.Little girl pattern for ages 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 years. It might have been under warming lights a little too long. The lobster meat was delicious, big chunks of claw and possibly tail meat. We did eat all of them though, which we rarely do. The fries were nice a crisp but not quite as hot as we'd prefer. The cole slaw was the tastiest we've had on this trip, most of the other slaw was somewhat bland, this had some sweetness and tang to it. We also split the "Big Awesome" 8 ounces of buttered lobster meat on a roll. This soup was so thick that everything was well distributed through each spoonful. It had a lot of clams, tons of flavor and was the perfect hot temperature. We both agreed that this was the best (of three so far) clam chowders we've eating on Cape Cod. All the restaurants in Cape Cod claim their chowder has won awards, this restaurant claims they've won awards in three different contests. We started with a cup of their award winning clam chowder. We had dinner there and really enjoyed everything. (Note that they evidently close each winter.) More Overall, The Skipper was an excellent dinner experience, and we'd be pleased to visit again the next time we make it out to the Cape.

Note that The Skipper is just across the road from an Atlantic-side beach (I think it is Parker River Beach) and it was nice after dinner (even in the light rain!) to walk the beach for a little while and marvel at the amazing number of molted horseshoe crab shells scattered underfoot. Dinner for three came out to about $116, before tax and tip, which felt a little high, but that seems to be the case pretty much everywhere around the Boston and Cape Cod area.

The service, despite the full house, was good - we never felt rushed or ignored. Even ignoring the fried clams, there was more than enough food in the dish. It turned out, naturally, to be a huge plate of varied fried seafood with french fries. Your reviewer continued on with the Fisherman's Platter for the main course. All of us started out with the clam chowder, and despite many establishments around Boston claiming to have the finest chowder, we agreed that Skipper's version was the best we'd tasted during our trip. Our party of three was seated immediately (Skipper doesn't take reservations) and we could see they were already busy.

We'd arrived at about 5:30 pm and could park. We were expecting a small specialty place, but once inside, we found a large, fully-staffed restaurant. It was dark and raining when we finally found The Skipper Chowder House in Yarmouth (is it South? Or West?).
